Seemingly nothing phased Kirsty and Leigh on their big day. On a warm September Saturday as they took it all in their stride and enjoyed a wonderful wedding day in the Leicestershire countryside.
Their level of calm throughout the day, from morning preparations to after dark disco antics, rubbed off on the chilled-out and fun filled mood of the day – even when Kirsty’s veil fell out just before walking down the aisle! Don’t worry, after big brother Ross had a go at fixing the wayward veil, a guest came to the rescue before Leigh started to wonder where his bride to be had got to. That was the only hic-up for the day though, which is all down to excellent planning. Oh, apart from the top tear of the cake falling off!
Before we even get to the ceremony, we love hearing about the potential characters of the day during the preparations with the bride and groom, and on this occasion, it was Kirsty’s Grandma that we were really looking forward to meeting. It turns out that the speculation was correct – Grandma is indeed quite the party animal! You might spot her in the images below.
Leigh’s second love – fishing – was noted on a number of occasions throughout the speeches and we even had to work around his framed fishing magazine prints (featuring the groom himself) during the preparation photographs! As for Kirsty, everyone now knows not to mess with her. It turns out that she has a famously aggressive rugby tackle on her! Then followed the debate of who should carry who across the threshold. Leigh stepped up.
The church ceremony took place in the Leicestershire village where Kirsty grew up, Desford, with the reception hosted at Ashton Lodge Country House who provided a delicious wedding breakfast and a mouth-watering hog roast for the evening.
There will be more photography featuring Kirsty and Leigh coming soon, as the time between booking our wedding photography services and the big day didn’t allow much time for some engagement photography. A post wedding photography shoot with the new Mr and Mrs Laffar – something we very much look forward to!
Huge congratulations to the happy couple! And now, for a glimpse of the day:
